Revelations of frequent communal clashes in Rajasthan

Body
Rajasthan observed a second violent clash within a month between the Hindu and Muslim communities. Previous violence was observed on the occasion of Ram Navami. The heavy stones were pelted on a procession carried out by the local Hindus in Jodhpur. The same city now observed the clash on the occasion of Eid-Al-Fitr.

Attack on Ram Navami procession

Police used tear gas shells to control the clash, which broke out when a Muslim mob threw stones on a Ram Navami procession in Jodhpur's Soorsagar area. Some vehicles of Hindu people were set on fire, and a mob stoned houses and clashed with police injuring two cops in Vyapariyon ka Mohalla in Soorsagar police station. After a surprise attack on the procession, Hindu people left their vehicles and ran away. Many of them were injured severely. After the stone pelting, the violent mob attacked the house of a Hindu family. The members of these family alleged that the police failed to turn up in time despite their repeated calls to the control room. Not only in Jodhpur, but attacks on Ram Navami procession also observed in various Muslim dominated areas across the country.

Within a month, the second clash was observed between police and the Muslim community. Vandita Rana, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jodhpur West, said: "Preliminary investigation suggests that the reason for the escalation of tensions resulted from one community hoisting an Eid flag over the statue of a freedom fighter." Here the one community was recognized as Muslim. But police officials ignored mentioning the name of the community. Officials said police had to resort to lathi-charge and fire tear gas shells to disperse the crowd that resorted to stone-pelting. The spot where the violence took place comes under the jurisdiction of the Sardarpura police station. Sardarpura is the Assembly constituency of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

One community disturbs peace every time and frequently in India

Although various faith-based and language-based communities are living in India peacefully, one community is making trouble for the remaining communities every time and frequently. The Muslim community, spread across the country, has several issues with non-Muslim communities. Their clashes have been observed against Scheduled Tribe communities also. Recently in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone District, which is a tribal-dominated district, the local Muslims attacked a religious procession carried out by Hindu tribals on the occasion of Ram Navami in April 2022. The attack was too violent in which many devotees were badly injured. Their vehicles were set on fire, and houses were also vandalized.

In Kerala, the Muslims are fighting with Christians. Over the decades, Christian missionaries have converted local Hindu people to Christianity in Kerala. Local Muslims also did the conversion of Hindus by enticement. Now, these two minority communities are fighting with each other on several issues. Some local Christian leaders and Church priests alleged that the Muslim youths are trapping the Christian girls in love to convert them to Islam. Several clashes between Muslims and Buddhist people have also been observed. In August 2012, a Muslim mob vandalized the Buddha idol in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The violence erupted after a communal clash reported in Myanmar. After Friday prayers at Tilewali Masjid in the Chowk area, the mob, armed with sticks, rods and daggers, went on the rampage for two hours as it marched to the Vidhan Sabha, about five km away. The police made no attempt to disperse them. The Lucknow unit of Jamiat-Ulama-i-Hind organized the protest.

Every community in India has faced the issue with the Muslim community. Several educated youths have been arrested and convicted for involvement in anti-national activities. Many of them are from the southern states of the country. Non-Muslim communities are facing major issues with Muslim community in India. However, several clashes have also been observed within Muslim community, because, the Muslim community divided into several sects. Every sect in Muslim community called themselves as a supreme sect of Islam. So, the Muslim community is one of the major challenges before the democracy in India.
