Rise in sexual abuses of minors by Christian priests in India
Amidst the revelation of substantial sexual abuse cases of minors in Western countries' churches, the minors have also been exploited sexually by Church priests in India too. Many cases have been registered against Church priests. In India, the cases have not only been reported in southern States where there is a considerable Christian population but in other States too. The issue once again surfaced after three more cases were registered against the arrested Christian Pastor Rajkumar Yesudasan, who has been arrested for sexually abusing minors in the monastery run by Bethel Gospel Pentecostal Church under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Attack on Salman Rushdie and controversy of 'The Satanic Verses'
After an attack on British-Indian writer Salman Rushdie in New York, USA, people started searching for his controversial novel named 'The Satanic Verses'. Rusdhie, 75, suffered grave stab wounds after he was attacked at a literary event in New York. After the attack, the novel once again became popular in society.
Muhammad Ilyas al-Kandhlawi and Tablighi Jamaat
The Tablighi Jamaat is an Islamic missionary organization that derives inspiration from the Deobandi school of thought in Sunni Islam. The Tablighi Jamaat movement started in India in around 1926-27. A Deobandi Maulvi, Muhammad Ilyas al-Kandhlawi founded this movement in Mewat region near Delhi. He was a descendant of the Sufi Shah Waliullah, who had invited Ahmad Shah Abdali to invade India in the eighteenth century.
World population day and Islam
For the last few decades, all countries have decided to curb their population after facing a lack of resources, health issues. They have taken the decision to improve human life and eradicate their exploitation due to insufficient resource availability. However, by looking at the religious data, it has been observed that Islam is the fastest growing religion across the world, especially in non-Muslim countries.
Hindu's freedom of expression under threat
As India is a non-Islamic country, it is expected to follow Constitution by all sections of society. Although freedom of expression is a fundamental right provided under the Constitution of India, generalizations such as Muslims not willing to follow Constitution is sweeping. One of the eye-opening examples is a man killed for supporting Nupur Sharma for her comment on Prophet Muhammad after defamation of Hindu God and Goddesses by a C cleric during TV debate. This shocking incident has been reported in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Decline of professing and propagation of Christianity in America
Christians in America are getting more liberal day by day. It has been observed that the majority of religious Christians have kept a significant distance from orthodoxy thoughts like Church opposition to abortion, LGBTQ, racism etc. Moreover, considerable Christians are leaving Church over several other issues like child abuse, compulsory Church taxes, further division of denominations on various doctrinal thoughts etc.
Why are Westerns leaving Christianity in large numbers?
It has been observed that a large number of Christians in Western countries are leaving Christianity. Several reports have claimed that there has been a sharp decrease in Church goers since the last decade. Moreover, the number of people leaving the Church has increased post Coronavirus Pandemic. Although there are several reasons like compulsory Church taxes, massive past and current sexual abuse cases and convictions of Church priests were observed as the primary reason for leaving the Church.
Behavior of Muslims over a comment on Prophet Muhammad
Although several cases under section 295 A have been registered and BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma has been suspended, Muslims have resorted to violence and rioting across the country. However, Nupur Sharma's comment on Prophet Muhammad came after a Muslim cleric provoked her by defaming the Hindu deity. Lots of protests and riots have been observed in every district of the country. Muslims have disturbed the whole country over one Nupur Sharma's comment, although she issued an apology. The violence has taken place even after Nupur Sharma withdrew her comments.
Reconversion and death of Birsa Munda
People belonging to all sections have paid tribute to Birsa Munda on his death anniversary dated June 9, 2022. Birsa Munda has been known for his fight against British and Christian missionaries. On his social media profile, Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu wrote, "My tributes to the fearless freedom fighter, 'Dharti Aaba' Birsa Munda on his Punya Tithi today. He fought against the oppressive colonial rule and made tireless efforts to protect the rights of the tribals. His abiding love for motherland continues to inspire every Indian."
