Hindu's freedom of expression under threat

Body
As India is a non-Islamic country, it is expected to follow Constitution by all sections of society. Although freedom of expression is a fundamental right provided under the Constitution of India, generalizations such as Muslims not willing to follow Constitution is sweeping. One of the eye-opening examples is a man killed for supporting Nupur Sharma for her comment on Prophet Muhammad after defamation of Hindu God and Goddesses by a C cleric during TV debate. This shocking incident has been reported in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Throat slitting of Hindu shopkeeper

The victim, a Hindu who owned a tailoring shop in the Dhanmondi area near Bhootmahal in the city, was ambushed in what is being called premeditated murder. Around 230 pm, two Muslim youth arrived at the shop on a bike. One of them held a phone to make a video, and the other one pretended to give his measurements to the tailor.

While the victim proceeded to take measurements of one of the men, he was ambushed and brutally hit on his head and neck with swords. The whole act was deliberately caught on camera. The killers, Mohammed Riyaz Akhtar and Mohammed Gosh later confessed to the killing in a video with no remorse while brandishing the murder weapon. The killers were seen making derogatory remarks and even threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the video.

No killing of Muslims for defaming Hindu deities

Lots of incidences have been reported of defamation of Hindu deities. Muslims have shared derogatory content defaming the Hindu faith on social media also. But not a single incident of their killing has been reported. However, several police complaints have been filed, and convictions were also taken place. For example, according to the Deccan Chronicle report, in Tamil Nadu, Mamallapuram police had arrested a man who posed for a picture with one leg on Shiva Linga, wearing slippers and posted it on social media. The arrested, Saddam Hussain (35), had took the picture at the Shiva Linga placed near Thiru Moorthy Mandapam.

Rule of law

Violent Muslims are now becoming a challenge for State Governments and the Central Government. The community is getting violent day by day. Hundreds of riots have been reported in just the last five years. Police officials are under pressure because of such anti-social elements. No one is above the law. There are several Constitutional rights under which Muslims can approach Governments and the judiciary. But instead, they are taking the law into their own hands. Still, Hindu society has not conducted any violent riots and no one has been killed by them. It is the prime responsibility of every citizen of India to follow the Constitution.
